The Texture Apprentice for the Jedi Masters Program works with the Lucasfilm Singapore Training team to further their abilities as CG Texture Artist with the intention of working on production shots once training is completed. The Texture Apprenticeship focuses on creating a variety of photo-real texture maps for characters, sets, props and other digital assets for digital animated features, live-action visual effects and Gen-3 video games.
Basic Skills:
Create high-resolution textures for 3D models including color, bump, specular and other specialized maps.
Create efficient UV layouts from geometry provided by modelers.
Work with competency, energy and enthusiasm within a team environment.
Demonstrate good listening and communication skills by openly receiving direction and criticism.
Ability to ask good questions to confirm clear understanding of the direction and the approach to the work.
Demonstrate basic presentation/communication skills in dailies/texture review by clearly and briefly outlining what has been accomplished.
Demonstrate the development of an artistic eye.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well.
Education and Experience:
Portfolio and/or reel demonstrating texture and UV layout proficiency is required.
Familiar with CG fundamentals and terminology.
Work experience in CG or fine arts is preferred.
Experience using Maya and Z-Brush software preferred but not necessary
